SEESAW #19

What is Seesaw?

Seesaw is a platform where students can create, collaborate, share and reflect.

When registering to Seesaw, you can open a teacher or student account. After you open the teacher account, you need to give your class a name. Most importantly, you have to choose a grade for your class on this screen. After setting up the class, we click on the plus sign that says "Students" to add your students and there we choose whether students can join with their "Google" account. Then Seesaw gives us a code. We give this code to students who will join our class. So they can easily join our class. With the "Add" button in the upper right corner, you can publish a new "student work", give an assignment or send an announcement. The first thing that can be said about Seesaw is that it engages students. Students can take photos and draw shapes on this photo in the lessons. So they have every opportunity to reflect how they think and they are free in that regard. Seesaw also comes to the fore in the immediate feedback part, which is a very important issue for teachers. Students can put their work together to create a portfolio and share it with others.

As we mentioned before, the most important feature that makes Seesaw stand out is that it encourages shy students to talk or behave. The students, who remain silent even on the subjects they know because of their shyness, find courage by acting freely with the help of Seesaw.
